How to become a life coach? Why would anyone want to be a life coach in the first place? Well giving, as I discovered late in my life is one of the keys to success and is incredibly rewarding from a personal point of view. You not only help other people, but I also found that my own problems stared to fade away somewhat – and I was getting paid at the same time which is very nice and there is nothing wrong in being paid for helping people. But before you jump up and down in joy and decide to become a life coach, you should know that it can be very lonely, frustrating and sometimes soul destroying for the coach as many students simply will not shift no matter what. A coach can sometimes wonder if they are effective or simply wasting their time.

And then a diamond comes along and makes it all worthwhile!

How to become a life coach then? Well the coach does need some training. In my experience life is a wonderful trainer and for me I would like my coaches to have experienced what I need solving before they try to coach me. Therefore a student can often have a number of coaches as each one has different areas of expert knowledge. My experience, for example is related to wealth creation and entrepreneurship, but when it comes to relationships and marriage guidance, I had better let someone else do the training on that and book me in for a couple of classes at the same time.

However someone who wants to learn how to become a life coach can do so with heart and determination and a whole lot of love for the world.

What makes a good life coach?

First a life coach must genuinely like helping people. Love for mankind is primary and the techniques that are used have been developed over time with experience and training from leadership camps and consulting programs. The coach should have a good moral belief system and should practice what he (or she) preaches. Their philosophy should be part of their own lives and their lives related to their coaching should be working and in harmony. I personally wouldn’t want a coach teaching me about wealth creation if he was broke with huge debt. (At least bad debt). Their programs should be congruent to their own lives. A coach is not a therapist, but rather a role model who leads by actions for students to follow.

The coach should have his own program related goals and should be achieving them from a point of inspiration rather than desperation. Students should be able to see a mentor who has his own personal development for them to look up too.

Methods of life coaches include behavior modification, mentoring, behavior modeling, values assessment, and goal setting. They may also modify existing methods depending on the client to make the coaching more effective. Again, life coaches should not be considered as psychologists or therapists.

How to become a life coach? Well for one it should not be purely about money. Money should probably be one of the last reasons for becoming a life coach and if this is your number 1 reason, it may be well advised to look for another career as helping people is not about money, and also normally you won’t make that much when you first start your career. Your students will soon know that you do not have them at heart if it is about money. They can just feel it.

How to become a life coach through communication

A good life coach will ask lots of questions and listen to the feedback. It is not about the coach, but rather about giving the student an arena to voice his opinion and feelings and often to dump their “trash”. A coach needs to remain detached and as unemotional as possible without being hard. Students will often cry and a good coach needs to keep control and not cry with them, but rather be a good listening board. This is a skill as sometimes what is going on during a session can be very personal for the coach.

Life coaching is communicating. In this job, you will always be interacting with people of different behavior, attitude and backgrounds in life. As a life coach, it is very important that you have good communication skills. You should know how to convey the ideas that you want your clients to hear.

How to become a life coach through training

A life coach has a multitude to learn. There are unending amounts of techniques and skills to learn as well as learning how to lead, how to read people, how to manage emotions and a million other things and training is a never ending process. Any coach that thinks he knows it all will never become a good coach and only those who dedicate themselves to never-ending training will ever learn how to become a life coach.

Most people dream of starting small business at some time in their life. I know I have had that dream since I was very young.

Starting small business is probably one of the hardest things you will ever do in your life. Some seem to think that once you start your business, you will be able to sit back and relax, but the truth is far from that. You will almost without doubt, spend the rest of your business life searching for customers who want to give you money in exchange for your services and goods. It is a never ending process.

Once you made the decision about starting small business, you then have to convince your new found customer to part with their hard earned cash. How do you get your customer to do that?

You may think that by simply having a great product that all your problems will be over, but I have seen and heard of many people who have great products that no one wants. For example, one guy came up with the idea of refrigerators with glass doors so that you could keep the door closed while you decided what you wanted, (this would save money in wasted energy) but no one wanted them because they didn’t want visitors to their homes to see in their refrigerator!

Starting Small Business with great products is an essential step to success, but then you have to let everyone know that you have a great product and even if they know about the product you must convince them what is so great about it.

Your target market, which you need to define when starting small business, will to some extend dictate the kind of marketing and advertising you do. If your product is for a local market in a small town the way you promote will be very different than the methods used in an international advertising campaign.

At the end of the day, your rewards in starting small business will only be as good as the promotional services you use.

So while the money is in the transfer of goods and services, in a way the money is actually in the promotion of the product rather than the product itself. No promotion – no sale!

It is rare these days that a product is so great that it will sell itself without any promotion at all, so if you want to make money starting small business, you must be prepared to promote the product as well.

You may not even have a product. you could promote someone else’s product and if you promote it correctly, you may even make more money than the person who designed the product (affiliate sales)

When starting small business, most people start by annoying the hell out of their family and friends and then once no one likes them anymore, they run dry as they don’t like to approach strangers!

The thrill of starting small business has suddenly lost it’s glamor as no money is coming in and you have overheads to pay!

But what if you could get customers without having to call people and without having to spend loads of money on magazine advertising and the like? Would it be great if perfect strangers ordered your product from you in a completely automated system so that you could enjoy your time?

This is what the internet can do for you! But before you dive on to the nearest computer and start bashing away, be warned that there are certain laws and rules that you must obey. There are also tricks and legitimate ways of doing business on the internet just as much as there are naughty ways of doing business on the world wide web.

To be honest, every business should have an online marketing system and you must take a little time to understand how it all works and it must be done in a certain way.

Or you will be wasting your time and money.
