What Niche?

What is a niche and how do I find one that will work for me? Now this is the million dollar question that everyone is searching for.

So first of all let us find out what is a niche.

A niche market is a small part of a much larger market. Niche markets have smaller audiences, but the audience normally has a much bigger participating interest and are normally highly motivated by their particular niche.

Niche audiences are also normally more likely to invest money in their chosen area than a mass market which is good for us as we want to make money in our niches.

An example of a niche market.

To give you an example of a niche let me use sport as an example. The topic of sport is huge and as a heading covers every sport known to man. There are millions of people interested in sport, but it is hard to get in touch with all of those people without spending millions in TV advertising or similar and it is also difficult for you to be able to get them to buy your product as there are too many sport subjects and too many competitors.

So let’s find a niche in the subject of sport.

Sport is too big so let’s make it smaller and study the area of “Tennis” which is part of Sport. It is still massive. So let’s go smaller down into the world of tennis we could choose “Sharapova” which would reduce it further and then we can narrow the search down again to the niche titled “Sharapova Commercials” and do you know that at the time of my search there are 118 people a day looking for information about that niche. Now if you could get 5$ from say just 10 of them…

Well you do the math.

Now care must be taken not to go to a niche that is too small and there is no potential business. also remember that some niches will be seasonal like Halloween.

So what is a niche? Well it is a small fragment of a market that normally has a pool of hungry “fish” waiting to bite you proverbial hook. So get your bait ready and prepare to make some money from your niche.

So how do you find a niche that will work for me?

Well a niche is a group of people that share the same interests or have the same problems basically.

One of the quickest ways to make money has always been solving problems for other people. We had the horse, but the problem was we wanted to go faster and so the car was invented, and we wanted faster still so the train was invented and yet we wanted faster still so the plane was invented and so on and so on.

If you can find problems and solve them for people, you will make money.

So how do you identify problems that will work?

Well this is simple. Make a list of all of your problems and then look at the lives of your friends and family and make a list of their problems.

For example from my own life:

How do I see my son when I am separated from his mother?
How do I simplify my business?
How increase business without the huge cost of an office?
How can I make myself a mobile office?
How can I find professional staff?
How can I make more money on the internet yet spend less time online?
How can I lose weight without giving up the food and drinks I like?
How can I buy beach property in Palawan?
How can I see my family more often when we live 7,000 miles apart?

Without giving you all of the obstacles in my life can you see how some of these problems may be shared by other people. For example, how many people are working away from home in different countries and would like to see their families more often? Millions I guess. Would they be interested to know how I solved the problem so that they can see their family more often?

I bet they would!

There are thousands if not millions of people around the world with similar problems to you and would love an answer. If you can solve it for them, they will certainly love you for it and the reward is more often than not a healthy bank account as they buy your products to solve their problems.

Make a list of as many problems that you can think of in your immediate life and the lives of your loved ones and then come up with real solutions for these problems and then you will have an incredible opportunity to start making money in the niche markets around the world.

Remember also that there are many niches around the world that you have not even thought of because you are living in different circumstances.

Be open to opportunities that are created by focusing in on niche markets.
